A rock photographer ‘n’ Roll and his wife, who co-founded a “slow” living brand with their daughters, have listed their home on Quogue farm and reserve adjacent for $ 4.9 million.
Richard Imrie has photographed Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, David Bowie and Rod Stewart, his work has accumulated many albums-while his wife Pippa co-founded Imrie, who is now based in Hawaii. Pre-Covid, the brand also had a presence in Hamptons and St. Barts.
Their two -parcel complex is in Quogue East, a village of Southampton, on 140 and 144 Damascus road. The area is now known as “Up-and-Co-Coern Hamptons,” said list mediator Palmer Gaget, from Douglas Elliman.
The property, known as Genesis Farm, contains a charming 3,666 -square -foot house, built about 25 years ago in just one hectare that was attached to a 5 -acre agricultural reserve. The reserve was “like a jungle when they bought it. It took a while to soften it, plant it and up to it,” Imrie said.
There is also a barn with an attic, but without a bathroom, which once served as a photography studio and also as a magical place to host guests.
“It was a beautiful little studio, for overflowing from home and a beautiful place to have holidays. Now we list the old pictures there,” Imrie added. “But it was a great place to have dinners.”
The property also comes with a pool and is only a few minutes from the ocean.
Both parcels were bought, especially, about $ 900,000 starting about 25 years ago, Richard said, adding that it was “the scale of the past at the time.” They were down a farm house, held a trail and built a two -storey -storey truck house of truck from one of the amish communities of Pennsylvania, where Richard’s son “had some contacts”.
The house on the farm comes with four bedrooms and three and a half baths.
Design details inside the farm house include exposed beams, wide wooden floors, high ceilings and a classic, white aesthetic. There is an invited bedroom suite to the main floor, with extra bedrooms above. The kitchen and living room have arched ceilings. There is also a cozy fireplace – and fully space for family gatherings – including the space for 11 grandchildren.
“It can become chaotic. I like to keep a living room without dogs and without children. But not always happens,” Richard said.
