Eating junk tastes so tasty, but these desires often sabotage diets because they lead to overeating and weight gain.

Now, researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have found a way you can have your cake-and eat it too! They determined that pursuing a nourishing plan that allows small amounts of seductive treatments can reduce desires and promote weight loss.

“If you are eating and making snack by chance, it was very difficult to control, said food professor and study author Manabu T. Nakamura said.

“Some dietary programs exclude certain foods,” he added. “Our plan used a” inclusion strategy, “in which people include small portions of curved foods within a well -balanced meal.”

Research shows that food desires – often caused by stress, sadness or boredom – tend to decrease with weight loss.

The Nakamura team wanted to investigate whether reduced desires were associated with greater weight loss and if these changes last well after fulfilling weight loss goals.

“Thanksgiving is a big problem for many people. If they have a lot of desires, it’s very difficult to lose weight,” Nakamura said.

“Even when they are able to control their desires and lose weight, if the desires return, they recover the weight.”

Researchers recruited 30 thick adults with conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.

Volunteers answered questions about their desires for hot dogs, cakes, pancakes and chips every six months.

Using a scale of 1 (never) up to 6 (always), participants praised themselves in statements such as, â € œ whatever I have food desires, I find my plans making plans to eat and “I have no will to resist my desires dood .â

Researchers used results for the 15 statements to calculate the intensity of their wishes.

To learn how to deal with these wishes, participants received 22 nutrition sessions on the Internet were visited by the University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Teaching.

They were instructed on how to choose nutrients while minimizing calorie intake. Researchers traced their progress by having a diet to weigh themselves daily before breakfast.

More than half said they used the strategy of involvement to manage desires – some as often as three times a day.

Those who used the technique reported weight loss greater than 5% and continuous decrease in the frequency and intensity of their desires, especially for sweets and high fat foods.

Of the 20 people who completed the subsequent weighting program of subsequent weight, the average weight loss was 6.7%, which included any weight retrieval.

The findings, recently published in the journal Physiology and behavior, suggest that reduced food desires after losing weight are stronger with a decrease in body fat than with the negative balance of energy created by the diet.

“This essentially debates the theory of hungry fat cells, a long hypothesis that fat cells became hungry for energy and cause desires, making diets eat and eventually recover what they lost,” Nakamura said.

“This is not the case. As long as you stay in a healthy weight, your desires will remain low.
