A Harvard trained career expert has revealed the most “underestimated” quality employers are looking for new employment.
Suzy Welch, a Harvard grade who currently serves as a professor at the NYU Stern School of Business, discovered in a column for CNBC that the “most underestimated” ability of very successful people is execution.
Recently, one of Welch’s students came to her complaining about the results of a 360 feedback report from her former chiefs and her associates before receiving her MBA, saying they were “cruel” -but Welch disagreed.

Welch immediately scored the issue, one she said is common with her students in the 20s and 30s.
Instead of knowing the student’s skills and ideas, such as the ability to know the trends or her detailed analysis of the data, or to say that she inspired the team, the reactions appreciated the student’s ability to execute – “to do things.
These very ambitious students who aspire to have impressive careers lack something that Welch learned with experience decades.
“Execution is your career app for the killer,” Welch said.

It is true that sometimes execution comes more natural for some people while others need to make more effort.
But while people’s good ideas and abilities are important in the workplace, “the cold business truth is that the greatest, most unwanted career reinforce and accelerator is the quality of your execution.”
