“Fortnite” Epic Games creator said Friday that Apple has blocked her latest tool to bring popular video game back to the American version of her App Store.
The Fortnite app is also unavailable for Apple devices in the European Union, despite being strictly downloaded there through the Epic Games store. Epic staged download failures in Europe as well.
“Apple has blocked our Fortnite layout, so we can’t issue to the American app store or at the EPIC Games store for iOS in the European Union,” Epic Games said in a post on the X Fortnite account. “Now, unfortunately, Fortnite in iOS will be out of line all over the world until Apple unlocks it.”
Epic games did not immediately return a request for further comment.
Fortnite initially blocked from the US application store in 2020, starting the constant quarrel of a legal year between Apple and Epic Games, who accused the iPhone manufacturer of antitrust violations. Video game was made available on Apple equipment in Europe last year in the second-year EU Digital Market Act, which required Apple to allow downloads to third-party app stores.
Epic Games and its CEO Tim Sweeney reset video game for comeback last week.
Sweeney had said the company would use a Swedish -based epic account to submit restnites for return to the SH.BA
Apple withdrew back to EPIC claims in a state.
“We asked Epic Sweden to reset the application update without including the American App Store store so as not to affect other geographies,” said an Apple spokesman. “We have not taken any action to remove the direct version of Fortnites from the alternative distribution market sites.”
The review came after the explosive ruling of American District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers last month that Apple had violated a 2021 order order to open his application store.
In her ruling, Rogers said CEO Tim Cook “poorly chose” by pointing to the employee to oppose the previous order and that finance vice president Alex Roman had “fully lied” under oath – and referred to the company on possible criminal charges.
Rogers also hit the fresh custom Apple to stop loading a 27% payment for rivals like EPIC WHO directs customers to buy outside the app store and complete the restrictions on where developers can set links that lead customers away from the App Store.
Apple has asked a Federal Court of Appeal in California to stop Rogers’ ruling, claiming it would come the company “billions” dollars a year if left in the country.
Meanwhile, Epic Games’ Sweeney had hinted at some difficulties with the appearance of Fortnite earlier this week, mentioning that his company had withdrawn its previous appearance and presented an updated duue version in a pending software update.
“Apple’s app review team should be free to review all applications immediately submitted and accept or reject according to the simple language of their instructions,” Sweeney said in an X post on Thursday. “The application review should not be armed by senior management as a means of delaying or obstructing competition, the second process or free speech.”
