Ariella Maizner is Sew Talent.
At the age of 6, she took her first sewing class and discovered a natural trend.
At the age of 9, she started her fashion line, theme, as friends began to ask about the female herds she was making and wearing her birthday holidays and mitzvahs.
Initially, that tie-painted shirts on the roof of her family’s apartment in Manhattan to sell in boutiques and pop-ups. When she was 10, for rent, the track invited her to show a collection of constant hoods and ends that match at New York Fashion Week.
Now, at the age of 16, Maizner has a growing brand sold in more than 200 boutique across the country, as well as in stores such as Sax Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom. Her clothes are seen in Zaya Wade-girl of actress Gabrielle Union and co-owner of basketball star Jazz dwayne Wade-and Tiktok Influencer Charli D’Amelia. She has collaborated with Walmart and State likes and recently debuted a line of beads and elegance necklace for adolescence Mall Claire.
“Since I was little, I played clothing,” said Maizner, a mahogany at a public high school in Manhattan, for The Post. “I thought,” Oh, if I could make my closures, that would be so delightful! “
The first part she finished was a maxi rainbow dress with a matching strap. Soon, she was sewing her herds for her friends’ birthday holidays and other events – and receiving many demands from others who wanted clothes.
“That’s when I was like,” I want to make a brand “because everyone asked me to do things for them,” Maizner said. When she told her mother, Debbi Maizner, then a cmo on Jpmorgan Chase, she wanted to start her line, Debbi was careful but encouraging.
“I do it:“ We live in the best city in the world. You have to meet people and learn from them, “” Debbi told him – who now treats the topic operations, “The Post told him. “Started as a trip to support her interest only.”
Maizner would often like DM designers and entrepreneurs she admired on Instagram and would seek to meet them. “I will bring all the clothes I sewed and lay down all, and [they would invite] The whole team to get inside, and they would simply tie me with other people and give me really good advice that motivated me, ”Maizner said.
“When I first got to know Ariella was hit by how young he was, but how he knew exactly what he wanted to do,” Minkoff Post told.
The theme is a girl in unfounded way: shocked skirts with lace ornamentation, party batches without belts followed, cold peaks and hood-you-you-you and sleeping clothes in pastel colors. However Maizner appreciates comfort and versatility. Tops come with detachable, adjustable spaghetti strips; The bottoms have shorts attached to them.
One of those designers was Rebecca Minkoff, who has become a main supporter of Maizner’s work.
“One really big thing is to make sure the clothes are comfortable and the girls feel safe in what we wear,” Maizner said. “Because I think this is like the biggest thing when wearing Klosa: to feel good and feel yourself.
While Maizner sits in business meetings, offers feedback to manufacturers and helps conception of brand photos, Debbi wants to make sure she has a normal teenager.
“I want to allow her to be a child,” she said.
Maizner competes in her school basketball team, leads the road and field and Luan Tenis. Her favorite subjects are mathematics and photography. During the weekends, she goes to the vintage shopping with her friends and hangs in the village of West.
And, among all this, she works on her fashion line. It creates humor boards with vintage photos for inspiration. It sketches the silhouette and sends them, along with the color exchanges, for the various manufacturers she works with. It tests fabrics and examines any single knit.
However, Maizner told the post that she does not think of designing as a job.
“Whenever I have nothing after school, I want to go to the sewing class because it’s my happy place,” she said. “Honestly, it doesn’t feel much to fit because I really like to do it. Just feel fun.”
It includes her friends and sisters in the process as much as possible – equipment is like holidays. And her 7-year-old wild sister, Noah, is one of her best models.
“She gives us truly sincere advice,” Maizner said with a laugh. “We always say if she can make a chair in it, then she passes the test.”
