Tesla’s Boss, Elon Musk, reportedly shot long “Fixer” Omead Afshar, head of company operations in North and Europe, after a prolonged decline in sales in the main region.
Afshar has long been considered one of Tesla’s most powerful leaders and was promoted to oversee sales and production in both regions last year. Forbes was the first to report on firing, citing people familiar with the matter.
Tesla did not immediately return the post for commentary request. Musk, who often provides business updates to his X account, has not yet addressed the status of AFSHAR.
The exact time of the AFSHAR exit was not immediately clear, although the news of his departure is said to have been discussed by some Tesla employees in recent days, Bloomberg reported. Afshar’s name has also been removed by an internal directorate of employees.
AFSHAR reported deduction is the last sign of the riots in Tesla, with more than 13% shares since the beginning of the year. Tesla will report its second quarter distribution numbers next week-a notice to be closely viewed by investors.
Tesla sales in Europe fell 28% in May, marking their fifth direct fall month while the Firm of Musk Cedes Ground to Byd and other Chinese electric car manufacturers, according to data from the European Association of Vehicle Manufacturers.
Recently on Tuesday, Afshar posted in the X Touch progress in Tesla Robotaxis’s performance in Austin, Texas.
On Monday, he described the participation of the robotax as an “absolutely historical day for Tesla”.
“This has been * years * of hard work and concentration by so many people within the company. Thank you, Elon, which pushed us all!” Wrote Afshar.
A 2024 Wall Street Journal profile was referred to as Musk’s “Fixer” and one of the most powerful leaders in Tesla. In particular, it oversee the construction of the mass Gigactory of Tesla in Texas. He also once led the CEO office in Tesla.
Some senior executives left Tesla then, between restructuring and dismissal, including CFO Zach Kirkhorn, leading Drew Baglino battery engineer and Rebecca Tinucci, who led the Supercharging Division.
Milan Kovac, who led engineering to the company’s optimus robot, resigned to spend more time with his family.
Separately, Jenna Ferrua, who led human resources operations in Austin, has also ceased to have recent media reports.
Wall Street has been concerned about Tesla’s aging machine lineup and enhances competition abroad, while Musk’s work with President Trump and the Government Efficiency Department contributed to a brand crisis.
Tesla supporters say self-directional robotaxis will have a transformative impact on the company’s business. For limited participation in Texas, Tesla placed security officers in the front seat to monitor the behavior of the vehicle.
Despite security measures, some robotaxis suffered glitches and even seemed to violate local traffic laws.
