A mother and girl travel the world in search of the last priest – and say their favorite is a hot cross craissant in their local oven.
Jessica Morgan-Heliwell, 26, and her mother, Louise Church, 48, are ‘Bakery Tourists’ that try lower treatments in the Australia bakery in Prague and Merches.
They share a love for priests and baking – and for the last two years have traveled the world to find the best and most unique ovens.
They try to visit at least a new craft oven every week and plan their travels abroad around them.
The duo share their findings in their accounts on social media under the @loveeatdrinktravel’s glove.
Their favorites include in Prague where in bakhouse artic they had a cherry bomb paste and brooki bakhouse in Brisbane, a croissant almond cookie
But despite Trips for London, Merrakesh and more, Morgan-Heliwell and Church say their favorite place for all time is only eight miles away from their home.
Their best choice is a hot croissant intersection in Bakery Little Valley in Swansea South Wales.
“They had croissants with the iconic intersection of the hot cross on the top, and a filling of butter grapes – and in fact it taste like a hot cross bun. It was really unique,” Church said.
Morgan-HellliWell added: “There were frankngipan with butter spices, the croissant layer of the croissant and the cross of the iconic hot cross.”
Morgan-Heliwell added: “We have always had a love for priests and baking.
“We have taken the Italian heritage of my ancestors of the ancestors from Italy, so we want to try baking and Italian food.
“We go to all kinds of different countries and try new things along the way.
“We look at a lot of social media for inspiration – I think it can be a really good way to find new places to go.
“We always have an eye on the local area too – we have many bakeries that have been opened near us lately.
“If we are going abroad, we always have a look at what everything.
“We have just returned from Prague, and social media was a large part of the look at where to go.
“We have made social media content creating about two years now, and go to all local restaurants.
“We found out that we were always looking for new places to go, so we thought we would start documenting it – this is where @loveeatdrinktravel.”
The Church added: “We are constantly looking for places to go – we never sit down yet!
“We love adventure, so we are always planning where we are going on our next trip.
“We always try to go somewhere new on weekends if we can.
“We are planning our next trip abroad for a few weeks, in Marrakesh, so we are already seeing places to try there.
“We go to London a lot – London is about three hours from where we live in South Wales, so we plan our travels around where we want to try.”
Morgan-HellliWell and Church are always looking for ovens that put a new turn on classic favorites.
Church’s main choice is a traditional almond croissant, while Morgan-Heliwell recommends a more fruitful version that describes a recent raspberry croissant as “one of the best things I have ever tasted”.
“On social media, people tend to love pastries and bread finds more than anything else in the minute,” Church said.
“I think a lot of people are interesting even in unique baking – something different from the norm and aesthetically pleasant.
“I think people eat with their eyes, so it’s good to find somewhere the priests look really delicious.
“There is a local oven for us – Bakery Little Valley – and around Easter time, they were making hot cross croissants.
“They had croissants with the iconic intersection of the hot intersection at the top, and a filling of butter grapes – and in fact it taste like a hot cross bun. It was really unique.
“I think people are experimenting with different flavors – the base of the paste remains the same, but the aromas can be more Italian.
“Unique fragrances set a turn on traditional baking.”
Despite their trips, many of their favorite places of Valley Little Valley Bakery and Refinery, both in Swansea are close to the house, so the pair plan to start a new series in Tik to highlight families after some of their indispensable points.
“We have decided that we will make a tour in Italian cafes,” Church said.
“Many Italian families moved to South Wales during the war and began cafes that make traditional houses and pastries – so we want to try as much as we can find and talk to families about what has been in the cafe business for so long.”
But after two years of traveling and creating content, Morgan-Heliwell and Church say the best thing about their journey is the opportunity to spend quality time together while enjoying delicious sweet treatments along the way.
“We absolutely want to do it-and it’s a great way to spend time together,” Morgan-Heliwell said.
“We go to all kinds of different places and try new things along the way – I think it’s really beautiful.”
The church added: “It is a great way to connect and spend time together – it eventually brings us together.
“Having that common interest is really left
