The Internet exploded recently when a Reddit user discovered an unusual lunch location, causing strong reactions.
The user started noticing that he or she was an introvert who worked on a “very social customer service work,” the person said on a theme on popular subreddit “am I a -hole”.
“I often only have to get my lunch time to recharge,” the commentator added. “The next door of my workplace is a large, well -kept cemetery.”
“On nice days, I take my lunch in one of those benches, eat my sandwich and read a book,” Redditor wrote. “Sometimes I walk along the trails and read the graves.”
But lately, the lunch place led to an unpleasant social situation that left the person shocked, as it was reported in the post.
“Last week, I had just finished my lunch and was packing things when another visitor approached me and we started talking,” the user said. “They said they were here to visit their parents and asked who I had lost.”
The person went on, “I had to admit that none of my loved ones were buried here, but that I was coming here because it was peaceful and I needed a place to take a break from my job.”
The sad person responded with disgust – and accused lunch for “treating the cemetery as a personal park”, which took the Reddi poster.
“I apologized and left immediately and I have not returned since,” the user admitted. “But I was surprised to hear that, as I didn’t think I was disrespectful.”
Asking a question for 24 million community users, the person asked, “Was I not disrespect?”
In response, hundreds of redditors supported the person’s decision.
“The cemeteries are places of peace and reflection not only for those who have lost someone, but for everyone,” read the high comment.
“Initially, the cemeteries were used like this,” another user claimed. “That is why when you go to the elderly, [there are] Lots of open spaces and benches. “
Another pet, “In the Victorian period, it was common enough to have picnics in the cemetery … only after the regular parks became more common that practice died.”
A different user withdrew, “Why do they think there are benches in these places? Certainly not for ‘residents’.”
The thread also attracted a visible occult admirer – which claimed it was “a very stretched thing to do”.
“I myself am drawn to the symbolism of the witches and I respect it very much,” this user wrote. “A certain type of witches finds peace with ancestors and [is] Drawn to the cemetery. They have a connection. This is not my way, but it is very respected. “
Some users found the choice of lunch point to be poor and accused the original poster of being disrespectful.
“I can’t imagine going to visit my nine -year -old nephew tomb and [finding] Someone who appears with open soda, ”said an open person.
“Really macabre. Have people lost all sense of property and respect?” Wrote another.
Another commentator said: “You’re using the last place of people’s loved ones for lunch as a private park … go out and find a park that is actually a park.”
Florida -based courtesy, Jacqueline Whitemore weighed in the drama, telling Fox News Digital that “there is nothing wrong with resting and lunch on a bench in a cemetery.”
“Many people find quiet and peaceful cemeteries and a wonderful place to decompose and reflect,” she said.
One commenter wrote that while the person did nothing wrong, it is important to appreciate Mourner’s feelings also visiting the cemetery.
“I don’t think you are disrespectful … I think, however, commentators here don’t think about the opinion of someone you are visiting [a] Someone’s beloved tomb, ”reads the response.
“Grief is in mind for them.”
