The James Webb Spatial Telescope reveals its first exoplanet as the stunning image is revealed

For the first time since the beginning of its operations in 2021, the James Webb (JWST) spatial telescope has captured a direct image, published by the Nature newspaper, of a new exoplanet – a planet that orbits outside the solar system.

This discovery marks a great progress in astronomy and a “new step” in the continuous search for planets that exist beyond our solar system.

This discovery was made possible by a team from the National Center for Scientific Research of France (CNRS), working at Paris-PSL Observatoire in partnership with University Grenoble Alpes.

From Earth, these planets appear directly near the bright stars, so their faint signals often lose in shine.

To fight this, the CNRS team designed a chronographer – a special telegraphic tool for JWST that blocks a star’s light, many like the way the moon blocks the sun during the solar eclipse.

By the name of the twa 7b, the newly discovered planet is surrounded by a shaky disk of rock waste and dust – waste from the early stages of planet formation.

He orbits a new star, Twa 7, which has three distinct rings, one of which is particularly narrow, and is surrounded by two empty areas. JWST discovered a source within the heart of this narrow ring.

This exoplanet is 10 times smaller – roughly the size of Saturn – than any exoplans previously observed using this method.

Which should be considered small, JWST gives way to six remote “deceptive” worlds, discovered by a team at Johns Hopkins University last summer.

At that time, researchers believe that these worlds were potentially brown dwarf – the astronomical term for failed stars.

“If you have an object that looks like a new Jupiter, is it possible that it could have become a star in the right conditions?” The author of the main study Adam Langeveld said.

Other important discoveries made by JWST about the same data provided researchers from the University of Michigan and Montreal to assume that there are potential oceans and air resources in exoplanets called LHS 1140 B, which is located without Cetus Constellation in the night sky.
