A truck driver has remained hanging in the middle of the rails after a bridge collapsed second on a landslide in the southern province of Guizhou China on Tuesday morning.
Shocking footage filmed by a viewer show the driver trapped in his cabin with the open door while the truck wheels hang dangerously from the edge of the Monkey River bridge.
The truck accident lights fall quickly as the camera pans down, revealing a terrible terrible drop in a valley covered by thick fog.
“You’re lucky to be alive – that’s dangerous,” the viewer says as the driver asks for help.
“You will have to wait for the fire service. There is no signal,” he says.
“I called the fire department, but I can’t pass,” the driver calls.
“There is no mobile connection. We all don’t have it,” he replies.
According to local media, the same witness was later seen redirecting traffic and warning of other vehicles not to continue the road.
Guizhou Fire Service confirmed that the man had been successfully rescued in a state posted on social media.
“At 7:40 am June 24, the Houzihe Bridge on the Xiarabic highway collapsed second on a landslide caused by constant heavy rain.”
“[We] Immediately sent 23 vehicles and 89 people to the scene for rescue. There were no casualties at the scene. “
Rescue footage shows a firefighter surrounding the back of the truck while climbs to the top of it with a ladder.
The unidentified driver can then be slowly seen by pulling himself through a window in the back of the cabin, trying his best to avoid disrupting weight balance.
In the next blow, a rescue can be seen by securing it with a thin rope and directing it towards safety.
At least three careless construction vehicles from the nearby villages were found in the valley after descending with the collapsed bridge.
Authorities said that many rivers had exploded their shores after rain days in China province hit by the flood of Guizhou, where the annual Monson of East Asian wine reached its peak.
More rain is expected in the coming days, with state meteorologists warning that the provinces hit by overlapping stomas, including Guizhou, should be especially in their guard.
Water levels in three rivers in Guizhou’s Rongjiang region are growing rapidly and is expected to cause the worst flood for at least 30 years.
