Mitsubishi Motors North American is remembered nearly 200,000 SUVs Hybrid Electric Plug-In Outlander and Outlander due to the wrong software that can make their backs wrong.
Automaker said on a National Highway of Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the infotainment system within 198.900 outlanders from the 2022-2024 model and SUV Outlander Phev from model 2023-2025 could “raise or display a black screen.
This can cause the image of the rear camera to “lose” during support, which can increase the risk of a collision and make the SUV potentially affected by compliance with a federal regulation on visibility, according to the NHTSA report.
Mitsubishi linked the problem to “improper software programming” in the infotainment system.
Remembered Outlander SUVs were produced between the beginning of February 2021 and the end of December 2024, while the potentially affected Phev were produced between the end of September 2022 and April 2025, the withdrawal report said.
The memory “replaces and expands” a preliminary withdrawal that Mitsubishi issued in May 2023, according to NHTSA.
The case at the center of the withdrawal has not led to any known injury or death, the report said.
Outlander and Outlander PHEV owners will receive a letter in the post with respect to the end of June.
They will receive instructions to get their vehicle in a trade, where it will reprogram the infotainment system in the vehicle with “countermeasures”, according to the withdrawal report. The service will not cost customers anything.
“The previously reprinted vehicles under the 23V345 memory will have to complete the new drug,” NHTSA noted.
“The affected customers will be notified starting this month later, and we will encourage anyone to get a notice contact their local Mitsubishi Motors’ partner – there is no need to be the trade from where the vehicle was purchased, any Mitsubishi Motors can help – as soon as possible, as it is possible to get a notice notice to make a software name for making a software name for free to make to be a clear software person.
In recent months, other automobiles have remembered vehicles to address the problems related to the rear camera.
Volvo placed about 413,000 vehicles in the KBA under memory of a problem that can cause the backup camera image not to appear in early May.
More than 27,800 pole electric vehicles 2 of the years of model 2021-2025 also face a withdrawal last month for “visualization issues” with a rear camera screen.
In April, Porsche Cars North America recalled over 8,500 from its Electric Macan 2024-2025 intersections, citing issues that could affect reserve cameras.
Mitsubishi has a website where the owners can access a vehicle identification number (OS) to see if a vehicle is subjected to a traction.
