It’s not that kind of holiday swingers.
How far would you go to rest a good night? Would you get supplements, diary or make a fire burn ritual? What about the swinging from your neck to a public park?
This is exactly what some elderly citizens are doing in the northern Chinese city of Shenyang – and is going viral.
Social -shared footage shows that older older people are tieting belts in shape attached to rods or game trees around their trees and gently shaking back and forth as lemurs, seemingly carelessly in the world.
While it is certainly not a picture that you want to stumble in the middle of the night, locals swear for this strange practice as a cure for sleep -related issues and spinal discomfort.
The brain behind this operation is Sun Rongchun, 57, who developed the device to treat its cervical spondylosis-a common, age, condition that can cause headaches, dizziness and insomnia, reported economic times.
Rongchun traded the device and applied to patented it – by then, it comes to the park every day to educate the public.
It seems that his spinal exercises are really being removed.
“In the past, my cervical backpack was in bad condition, so I was uncomfortable every night, but after a few days, it works quite well,” one local media fan told.
“Now, my throat condition is better and the unpleasant symptoms are completely gone. I’ve done this exercise for two years already.”
It is unclear exactly how this device works on your back – and experts say this is a trick that you definitely should not try at home.
“People are desperate for better sleep, but no tendency is worth endangering paralysis or stroke,” said Certified Sleep Coach Rosie Osmun of Amerisleep.com.
“Hanging any part of your body, let alone your neck, is biomechanically dangerous. There are safe alternatives, supported by research that actually work.”
Made wrong, this trend can result in nervous damage, spinal cord or even death from limited blood flow to the brain.
There has already been at least one reported incident in which a man died after incorrectly curing his belt around his neck instead of beard.
Human mistake aside, in a public park, you also have elements to fight with it.
“Medical withdrawal uses precise gram of strength; park belt oscillation is essentially an uncontrolled experiment of physics in your spinal cord,” said the physical therapist Dr. Jennifer Miller, who is associated with Amerisleb.
According to OSMUN, the only reason these sleep hacks gain attraction is because dramatic, visually strike and fake rapid adjustments to chronic problems. “
If you are looking for a soothing, swinging sensation to make you feel like a baby in front of the bed – get a hammock.
Otherwise, you may be asleep forever.
“Sleep is essential to life, but so is security,” Osmani said.
“The solution is not in belts, but in balance: true strategies based on science, not spectacle.”
