Two in five Americans are “bad” in the morning, according to new research.
The survey of the 2,000 general US population found that 38% agreed with this feeling – and the answers emerge from the bed later than it was planned on average eight times a month.
For one in 10 respondents, this happens more than 20 times a month.
When they are rushing through their morning routine, as they stayed in bed than it was planned, the answers were most likely to spend the morning (41%).
But others will neglect their personal hygiene: 16% will pass the shower, while 11% will go to their day without brushing their teeth.
Ordered by Avocado Green Mattress and carried out by Talker Research, the survey was also placed in the response alarm habits. Less than half (43%) use an alarm to wake up in the morning – and for these answers, the results revealed that their first alarm turns off at 6:33 in the morning
The younger generations were more likely to rely on an alarm: while only one fifth (19%) of children’s boomers set an alarm, 63% of Gen Z and Millennials do the same.
During the ages, the average alarm user places two alarms in the morning, and one fifth will strike to dive at least three times before they actually get out of bed.
The survey also separated respondents from early birds and nightlife to see how it affects their alarm habits and their sleep in general. Two -thirds (67%) of early birds using an alarm said it is “very effective” in taking them from bed to time compared to time in just half (52%) of night buffins.
Early birds were more likely to use an “standard” or predetermined alarm sound (70% vs 58%), while night owls were more likely to have a “annoying” sound – as a fire alarm or honorable cars – to awaken them (20% vs 12%).
Uniuding, night buffets were more likely to fight to get out of bed in time (54% VS 17%). Owls of night were also more likely to say that their body needed more sleep than they are currently taking (70% vs 55%).
This is despite the two groups that take for the same amount of sleep – exactly about six and a half hours a night.
“Whether you are a morning person or a night owl, quality sleep is non -negotiable,” said Laura Scott, director of brand marketing in Avocado Green Mattress. “Your natural rhythm of sleep should be supported – not interrupted – from an environment created for depot, restore resting.”
The main reason Americans are not sleeping enough? Their works are keeping them (51%).
This was followed by a state of sleep (30%) and nightmare or stress dreams (20%).
Also in the first five was an unpleasant bed or mattress making it harder to sleep (19%) and loud noise outside (14%) keeping the answers awake.
While Owls Night (35%) and early birds (37%) were almost just as likely to fight to stay asleep, the nights were more likely to face other difficulties.
This included go to bed later than they “should” in the evening (48% vs 24%), struggling to fall asleep (44% VS 27%) and staying in bed long than “should” in the morning (25% VS 8%).
“So many of us lie awake at night, our minds compete with worry or stress,” Scott said. “That’s why it’s so important to create sleeping spaces and habits that are quiet and supportive – so you can wake up feeling like yourself again.”
