The latest ranking of the best holiday trip from the US News & World Report has revealed a new hidden gem.
Yeardo year, â € ë € Publication “analyzes over 1,500 countries using a mix of travelers’ reviews and expert opinions, factoring things such as cultural offers, recreational opportunities, dining scenes and how suddenly enjoying.
The leadership of its 2025 list of the best underestimated travel destinations “is a long -standing island that has long been favored for the premises but large bypassed by national travelers: St. Simons Island in Georgia.
And among other things known in the first 20 places is a sustainable location from the Upstate New York, The Catskills, with the mountain belt descending to no. 17.
The full list of news in the US includes a variety of destinations overlooked throughout the country, feeding travelers which means more parks with walks trails or pressing cities for small town charm.
The high ranking of St. Simons checks all the boxes. While its neighbors “Florida and South-School Carolina prevails holiday routes, this calm island of obstacles remains low key.
The winding bike paths, the magnificent vivid oaks drapted in the Spanish moss, and the quiet beaches create an environment that feels like a step back in time – and a large update from typical packaged summer spots.
“This island dreamed of barrier is home to direct oaks, beaches coated with dunes, marine forests and strange shopping villages, giving it a peaceful atmosphere, also paved during the peak season,” the US News wrote.
The island is attractive is only in its decent landscape for the postcard.
From historical monuments like Fort Frederica to local wanders like Griddle & Shake & Shake and Southern South, the area offers rich experiences for food lovers, history buffs and family alike.
There is kayaking through the salt marshes, looking for local shops in the area of the strange village and grasping the sun’s sunset from the scaffolding.
For golf fans, stage coastal courses offer a relaxing time with the Atlantic breeze.
While St. Simons are finally starting to attack national attention – travel and recently emphasized it as a high summer town – it still holds the kind of unspoiled holidaymakers, but rarely find it.
After returning to the Empire State, Catskills show cold mountain lakes and forested trails that keep as attractive as sandy shores.
“Picturely rounded mountains – loved by landscape painters for centuries – are ideal for skiing and walks. Meanwhile, small cities like Catskill on the Hudson River and Bethel, the home of the Woodstock Music Festival, are worth checking.
While travelers are increasingly demanding escapes that feel special and unforgettable, places like St. Simons Island and Catskills are emerging as new favorites.
However, with national recognition that illuminates a light on these unique officials, they may not stay secret much longer.
