General Z Stylist’s Warning on the Temple of New People, Shein Obsession: ‘Cost Builds’

The cost of the living crisis has led most people to reassess their expenses, and a new Aussie has highlighted the usual free act that costs us the most in the long run.

Maddie Langshaw, 26, was earning more than $ 100,000 working full time on social media and marketing when she decided to start her slow fashion brand Audrey Atelier.

It was not just her love for fashion that prompted the decision – she said she also came to the fashion of realization was a complete.

“It feels free at that exact moment, but the cost is built,” she told news.com.au.

“Whether there is a constant need to replace poor quality items, or environmental damage, or just the mental clutter of excessive possession that means nothing.”

Ms Langshaw said the danger with the fashion hug was that you always remain wanting to buy more.

“He encourages this consumer mentality, where clothes lose all the meanings. It’s not fashionable, it’s waste,” she said.

“Alsosh also emotional drainage, because it keeps us in a desired loop more, but we never feel satisfied.”

“I definitely got into it in the past, buying things just because they were cheap or trendy. But over time, charm was completely dressed,” she said.

“The last closures, and frankly. I didn’t feel like me in them. Now, my dresses are 90 for a hundred shaken or second -hand.

“If you buy something new, it gets me at least or six rounds of search. I want to know who does it, what it’s done and if it’s something I love long -term.”

Ms Langshaw argued that fashion created the illusion that it was better and the dress was available.

“It’s a trap that keeps us purchased and never feel fulfilled. Once you move the mindset from it, you save more money for a long time and invest in pieces you have forever,” she said.

She has also had some rapidly fashionable horror experiences, where lack of quality led to flat dresses to fail.

“I’ve had stitches discovered after a dress. Things shrink beyond savings and fabric pills within days,” she said.

“Once, I wore a dinner dress and hem literally moved in the middle of the meal.

“I have removed most of the fast trendy brands from my dresses in this, the fact that they never do”

Ms Langshaw is not the only webinking how she is spending her clothes for clothes – and she wouldn’t have started her business if she were.

Her marketing background helped her notice a big difference in consumer habits, with Aussies being more “aware” of where they spent their money.

“I think this amazing change is happening. Fashion is not just about appearance, it’s about history,” she said.

“Conscious buyers are choosing meaning over mass production.”

Ms Langshaw was shocked, but unexpectedly to see how buyers have embraced her Audrey Atelier brand, where a blazer can cost $ 150 instead of $ 30 from a retail chain but is created to extend.

“Even with stronger budgets, people want to feel good about what they are buying; they want to last, feel considered and come with a story,” she said.

“It’s not about buying more, it’s about the best purchase. Audrey Atelier relates to that commodity for the purpose.

“It is a small, quiet revolution and I am so proud to be part of it. I have had great support from the community, with most buyers who say they want to support small, slower fashion.”
