Travelers are taking extreme measures and using hacks to avoid airline baggage fees

The summer trip is in full motion after a record weekend of the commemoration day.

A 45.1 million mass American were projected to travel at least 50 miles away from their homes, with 3.61 million Americans flying to their destination.

For those leaflets that tend to bring with them a lot of luggage, a viral travel trick that includes pillows now is apparently helping some passengers avoid controlling a bag.

The pillow’s journey masks the ear and other soft items like a travel pillow.

People are filling items on a blank pillow – then bringing this item to board for free.

Most airlines allow passengers to bring through the pillows without counting items as luggage.

New York Travel Expert New York told Fox News Digital that he recently returned from a trip and noticed an influence of people traveling with their pillows.

“I always thought it was for comfort during the flight, especially for red -eyed flights,” Page said.

“However, I came to find out that this is not the only reason people are getting their pillows.”

Page said that with “extra luggage tightening on board and tariffs, people will start to become awake in using the matter themselves to get whatever big items cannot fit into their bag because it is not technically considered more than one pillow.”

Gary Leff, a Texas -based travel industry and author of the blog “Wing View”, told Fox News Digital he saw Hack circulating on social media in 2023 and 2024, too.

“No one minds a pillow as an additional carrier,” Leff said.

“Not going to the upper bin, or under your seat, usually. So you’re betting it just gets a passage.”

“This trick has been discussed enough, I think, it has become very clear to work in many cases. At least there is enough risk that it would not be that it is probably not worth trying,” he added.

Leff said that by bringing more items than allowed only to save fees, he sees passengers to return to the topics in “Human suitcase[s]. “

Some crossings are even dressed as many clothes as possible, along with filling their pockets with extra clothes.
