Exclusive | I handle any ‘Madison Square Guardian’ jacket so that NY fans can shake their favorite teams all right away – even Jalen Brunson has one

New York sports fans are well known to wear their hearts in the sleeve, and this jacket makes talks about them – in court, rink and on the field.

It is all about the New York Knicks now, with the team in a string of stunning and historical winning, but Madison Square Garden’s regulations – both inside and outside the court – do not want to forget other hometown heroes.

For rescue comes Alex Ruffin, a 31-year-old Connecticut stylist who created “Madison Square Guardian”, a 1,400-half-half-half jacket by repeating the Rangers, the other Knicks-So fans could celebrate the heart of the Big Apple Sports, win or lose.

“MSG – this is Mecca right there,” he told the post. “Babies are born every day in a random … Sports unify many people.”

Multi -color dressing is part of the “Hometown Hero” series, by Ruffin’s A Temple Temple Label – a fun union of two vintage team jackets from the same city or state, shredded and sewn together to create an even bolder state.

“People resonate with my jackets to the extent they do because sports is the only thing on this planet that transcends,” said Ruffin, who created the concept of three years in his home in Stamford.

“I thought it was a great idea because who doesn’t like to represent you from?” he added.

Even Jalen Brunson, the Knick star guard, is on board.

“Jalen’s jacket that I do for her is very special to me,” Ruffin told the $ 1,400 -style style from Brunson last month. “It made a lot of sense, simply knowing the history of the team and the owners, knowing that Jalen Brunson’s father also played for Knicks again a day, so it was a really delightful moment.”

And it’s really a full-circular moment, given that the Knicks are in the final of the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2000-when Brunson Rick’s father was in the team.

A winning combination

Ruffin Rad Rags start with $ 800, with New York teams ‘most popular models – but they have been seen sports across the country, by the likes of Davion Mitchell, who currently plays for Miami Heat, and Milwaukee Bucks’ Andre Jackson Jr. as well as Rappers Westside Gunn, Anderson .Paak, Lil Yachty and Big Sean.

Mania started when Yankees player Jazz Chisholm Jr. Wearing a specially made birth hero jacket (Knicks-Yankees) at MSG-A Surreal Moment for Ruffin, who played baseball for 10 years growing.

“They had it in Jumbootron and he is showing both sides of the jacket,” Ruffin said. “I was as it is happening. It’s finally happening. Everything everything that has been crazy.”

Ultimate Slam Dunk -came after Brunson’s great discovery, however – leading to fans from all by reaching demands for their personal couples.

“He was wearing [the jacket] For Madison Square Garden, and I think this was the first time I got into the world and noticed, that’s my job and that’s who I am, “Ruffin told Jazz Chisholm Jr., look here with Spike Lee. Jason Szenes for New York Post

“It’s a hot commodity now, and it’s almost overwhelming to some extent, but in a good way. Many people want my work,” Ruffin said. “Crazy is crazy because I don’t just see my jackets like jackets, I see them as art pieces.”

Couture

Ruffin can make up to four jackets in one day and most have a base price of $ 500 to $ 600 – though the New York Designs, which are in high questioning, have a higher price.

Helping the originals in Frankenstein together is complicated – that religion in Mercari, eBay, warehouse or wonderful local shops, though customers can supply two jackets to join – and thus continuing with the flow of orders, especially since the knick strips.

But for the creator of the questions, it’s everything in the work of one day. “They say this all the time, if you can do it in New York, you can do it anywhere.”

“I know once I understood the concept, I would be able to do much of these with my free will, and that’s what happened – and I was just catching up wherever since then,” he said. Samuel Corum for Nipost

Often, buyers grab the jackets almost immediately after he posts about social media resettlement. So far, he has been sold about 100 hometown hero jackets.

“With these jackets I do, I think I’m like knight people. As, this is like an armored battle force for you that I think is yours and it only belongs to you,” Ruffin said.

But it was just less than three years ago that he began to sew seriously and bringing his models to life and he is completely self-made.

“Almost almost like trying to learn a new language,” he said.

Return story

Ruffin’s big victory comes just over a decade after he was forced to abandon the college at the age of 18 to take care of his mother when she was diagnosed with cancer.

“I remember clearly as a day, having that weight at such a young age, it makes you something,” Ruffin said. “To see someone you have such a connection to the disintegration in front of you and lose all the sights of yourself.”

She died in 2013, a few weeks after his 20th birthday, and Ruffin’s father passed away a few years later at the age of 51.

Experiencing extraordinary loss at such a young age could be broken, but he learned to return his pain into art. He returned himself to the drawing and start of painting his models in closing, which he found therapeutic.

“It would make my mind ease my loss,” he said.

“Having all these different forms and media of art has helped me cope with the losses I have experienced in my life,” Ruffin said. Samuel Corum for Nipost

He sold his first painted jacket for $ 80 and, in the years since that time, he has been able to leave his day’s work in Sprint and “Throw in the Wind” to focus only on a shocked temple.

“Really really humble to me because I make these jackets in my apartment. Just me, my living room space and my sewing machine,” he said.

He is now doing more than any previous concert – and his life is much richer.

Although he may not be here to see him, Ruffin said he is sure he made his father, a “dead” sport fan in New York, proud.

“I know my mother, my father and my great are all with me in spirit on this trip.”
