A self -proclaimed travel expert has revealed her secret to get the best place on a plane for free.
Elaine Poon, who shares her Instagram travel hacks, posted a video with 2.2 million views of how she wins on Ryanair flights without paying any extra fees.
“With budget airlines like Ryanair and EasyJet, they earn their money mainly from the extra charge for choosing your country,” London Luxury -based content creator told the Daily.
The 33-year-old said in the title that the best places on a Ryanair flight include the front rows of the plane, the strict emergency places for additional legal, and the remote rows.
She explained that the back is preferable because passengers can enter and go out through their backs, so it’s just as fast as to sit in the front rows.
But she has a trick that “always worked” for her to get the place she wants.
“Check online as late as possible,” she wrote. “That’s it.”
Ryanair shoots the plane starting with the “worst” places so that passengers have to pay extra to change them, she claimed in her title, adding that the airline “will deliberately share people with the same booking”.
“And as people control, they filter the places, and the remaining ones are the best – whether from front or far away,” she said. “Almost always either a window or in place, too.”
She believes that the later check on your flight to Ryanair, the better the chances of getting the places that the airline has not yet assigned, “which are usually the most spent locations located or in the front, far or emergency rows.”
Poon said that there were many times when she had the entire emergency line for her without any additional costs.
When Poon had a 10:15 afternoon flight to Mallorca, she remembered, she checked somewhere between three and five hours before the flight. For the trip, she chose the allocation of the occasional places and managed to grab a place of the front row, while her boyfriend took a window place in the last row.
She said she refuses to pay an additional fee for airlines like Ryanair or Easyjet “when the entire flight budget point is so we can fly to another place for cheaper.”
Poon once shared where she had a whole row for her on a flight.
“You called it – I didn’t pay extra for it because I just applied the same approach I used for any budget airline that makes you pay extra for countries,” she said. “Works. Every time.”
However, like any hack, it’s not always foolish.
“Of course, don’t check too late, and always check what is the time of interruption because the flight may be different,” Poon added.
“For example, one of my friends was put on a waiting list because she checked later than usual. This doesn’t happen often – it definitely didn’t happen to me,” she said.
“I have to say that if this happens and you slam from the second flight to overload, you get into the next flight and get compensation on top of this. Which, to me, is not that bad.”
Poon hack is similar to the trend of the “CHECK-In” trip that went viral last year.
With this, travelers will deliberately delay their internet control in the last minute in the hope of lowering a better place. The methods are based on the fact that airlines will often load additional for better places, share groups and initially assign fewer desirable places.
When closing check-in, left places tend to be more coveted, including those with extra heels.
